Exciting Progress on Our New Isolation Unit Thanks to Olsen Animal Trust
We are thrilled to share the latest update on our new isolation unit, a project that will significantly enhance Swan Lifeline's facilities and help us provide better care for both swans, cygnets and ducklings throughout the year.
The new isolation unit will be primarily used to quarantine injured swans during avian influenza outbreaks. Outside of these times, it can also be used to house ducklings during the busy summer months, freeing up our ICU to focus on swans in need of urgent medical attention. This addition ensures that all our feathered patients will have a safe, purpose-built space designed to meet their specific needs, no matter the season.
The construction of the unit is well underway, with the waterproofing phase now completed. We’re incredibly grateful to the Olsen Animal Trust for their generous support, which has made this vital project possible. The trust has been instrumental in funding the work so far, and we deeply appreciate their belief in our mission.
Visitors from Olsen Animal Trust recently toured our site and were able to see firsthand the impact of their contributions. We hope this marks the start of a lasting partnership that will continue to benefit Swan Lifeline’s rescue efforts.
Here’s a video of the unit being built, showing the incredible progress made so far:
We would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Olsen Animal Trust for sponsoring this important addition to our facilities.
Stay tuned for more updates as the project nears completion!
