Education is key.
It was a pleasure to welcome another group of Brownies this week. 18 young enquiring minds who asked great questions and left knowing more about swans and effects of rubbish, pollution and deliberate human harm, including catapult attacks. We are always sure to check our content with their leaders first but nature and life can be cruel. They had the honour of stroking one of our orphaned cygnets, this only ever happens during these educational visits during 6 weeks of the year. We respect that the animals in our care are wild and will be released so too much human contact is not a good thing, however, they sometimes have to earn their keep to help the bigger cause.
